CASE STUDY - 2023
For Play
Web player + admin panel + mobile remote
Deliverables

A multi-surface music platform for venues
For Play
For Play combines a web-based music player, an admin panel, and a React Native mobile remote controller. We built the full stack—frontend experiences, Node.js backend services, and cloud deployment—so venues can run music operations reliably.
1) Web Player A venue-facing player optimized for fast control, smooth playback, and operational reliability.
2) Admin Panel A management dashboard for accounts, content, and operational oversight.
3) Mobile Remote (iOS + Android) A React Native remote controller app for staff to manage playback without staying at the terminal.
4) Backend + Cloud Node.js services deployed on AWS, with edge and hosting support where needed for performance and uptime.

The Process
Crafting the For Play Experience
For Play
We built For Play as a connected system, keeping UX patterns and data flows consistent across web and mobile:
Web Player + core playback: We started with the venue player: playback controls, library browsing, and stable session behavior for real-world operations.
Mobile remote controller: We shipped an iOS + Android remote app in React Native so staff can control playback from anywhere in the venue.
Admin panel + operations: We built an admin dashboard for account control, content management, and operational tooling—connected to the same backend services.
UX
A platform built around real-world operations
We designed For Play as a system of connected experiences: a web player for venues, an admin panel for oversight, and a mobile remote controller for staff—so playback and management stay in sync.
Role-based UX across surfaces
Venue operators need speed, admins need control, and mobile users need simplicity. We aligned navigation and permissions so each role sees only what they need.
Real-time feel without friction
We focused on responsive interactions and reliable state syncing so the web player and mobile remote feel immediate during live operations.
User Interface

Problem Solving

Operational control across web and mobile
The platform reduces operational friction for venues by making playback control accessible, consistent, and reliable across devices.
Venue operations: Fast playback control and predictable behavior during busy service hours.
Remote convenience: Mobile control reduces interruptions—staff can adjust music without leaving the floor.
Platform oversight: Admin tools for managing accounts and content keep operations stable as usage grows.
