Dicipl

Dicipl is a mobile community product built for people who want meaningful connection without the noise of mainstream feeds. We designed and built the full app experience for iOS and Android, backed by Node.js services and Firebase to support identity, content, and community interactions.

The Process

Designing and shipping a community product

Dicipl

We treated Dicipl like a product build: define the community experience, design the system, ship cross‑platform, and ensure the backend supports safe, scalable interactions.

1) Define the community model: We mapped the core primitives—profiles, posts, discussions, and moderation-friendly flows—so the product stays safe and purposeful.

2) Design the mobile UX: We built an interface that feels calm and readable: simple navigation, clear content hierarchy, and interactions that encourage thoughtful engagement.

3) Build cross‑platform: React Native allowed one codebase for iOS + Android while maintaining a native-feeling experience.

4) Backend + Firebase integration: Node.js services and Firebase features were integrated to support authentication, data handling, and real-time experiences where needed.

Dicipl focuses on community, identity, and conversations in a way that feels calmer than typical social apps—so users can engage with purpose.

Intentional spaces: Structure conversations so communities can stay focused and respectful.

Frictionless onboarding: A clean first-time experience helps new users understand what the app is for and how to participate.

Safety by design: We designed flows that support moderation and reduce the chaos common in mainstream feeds.

Our Challenges

Simplicity by Design: User-Centric Focus
Dicipl was created with a mix between usability and a robust feature set. Based on user input, we consistently improved our approach, emphasising intuitive design to accommodate users of different ages and technological skill. A flawless and enjoyable user experience was the outcome.
Creating a Safe, Inclusive Space
Making sure that Dicipl was inclusive and private was a major task. We tried to provide a safe space while honouring different religious views. This included creating community norms and putting in place robust data protection measures to create a polite, secure environment for spiritual inquiry and development.
